Estriol vaginal cream is a hormone cream that may help to alleviate symptoms of vaginal atrophy associated with menopause, such as dryness, itching, burning and painful intercourse. The cream contains estriol, a weaker form of estrogen, which may help restore estrogen levels in the vaginal tissues.[1][2]
The cream may be applied intravaginally using an applicator to allow for precise dosing as prescribed by a healthcare provider. Estriol vaginal cream may be an option for women who are not candidates for systemic hormones. This treatment may be an option for women who experience predominantly vaginal symptoms of estrogen deficiency.[2][3]
