Rosuvastatin Calcium Tablet (Each) †
† commercial product
High cholesterol and decreased cardiovascular disease risk could both be helped by rosuvastatin calcium. Belonging to the statin drug group, it targets the HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme engaged in cholesterol synthesis in the liver. This decrease in cholesterol synthesis may help to lower circulating low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels. Reducing LDL cholesterol, sometimes known as “bad” cholesterol, rosuvastatin might help lower the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular events connected with high cholesterol.
Muscle soreness, liver enzyme abnormalities, and, in very rare cases rhabdomyolysis—a severe disease involving muscle breakdown—may be side effects of rosuvastatin.
Speak to your healthcare provider about the monitoring required while taking rosuvastatin to minimize possible negative effects and guarantee best therapeutic results.
