Ferrous Sulfate Tablet (Each) †

325 mg

† commercial product

Ferrous sulfate tablets are iron supplements that may be used to assist with iron deficiency anemia, a condition characterized by low levels of red blood cells due to insufficient iron in the body. Iron is needed for the body to produce hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. Ferrous sulfate tablets provide a concentrated form of iron that may help restore normal red blood cell levels.[1]
Ferrous sulfate tablets may cause gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, constipation, or diarrhea. To minimize these side effects, ferrous sulfate tablets may be taken with food.[1]
