Lisinopril tablets belong to the class of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and are used primarily to assist with hypertension and heart failure. They work by inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a powerful vasoconstrictor. This dilates blood vessels and reduces blood pressure.[1]
Lisinopril may lower blood pressure and improve outcomes in at risk patients by reducing cardiovascular mortality, myocardial infarction, and stroke.[2]
