Tadalafil ODT ek orally disintegrating form hai Tadalafil ka, jo mouth mein turant dissolve ho jaata hai bina paani ke. Is formulation ka use un patients ke liye helpful hai jo conventional tablets swallow nahi kar sakte.

Iska use same indications ke liye hota hai jaise:

  • Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

  • Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)

  • Erectile Dysfunction with BPH

  • Kabhi-kabhi Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) (though rarely in ODT form)

Tadalafil ODT bhi same mechanism se kaam karta hai jaise conventional Tadalafil:

  • PDE5 enzyme inhibition karta hai

  • Isse cGMP ka breakdown rokta hai

  • Result mein smooth muscle relaxation hoti hai aur blood flow improve hota hai

  • Especially penile region, bladder, aur lungs mein vasodilation promote karta hai

ODT form sirf route of administration mein alag hai, mechanism same hai.

Contraindications:

  • Nitrate-containing medications ke saath use (risk of severe hypotension)

  • Recent myocardial infarction or stroke

  • Known hypersensitivity to tadalafil or any component of ODT formulation

  • Severe liver or kidney dysfunction

Precautions:

  • Cardiovascular disease (angina, heart failure, arrhythmia, etc.)

  • Retinitis pigmentosa ya history of NAION (vision-related disorders)

  • Anatomical deformation of penis (risk of priapism)

  • Concomitant use with alpha-blockers or CYP3A4 inhibitors

  • Age >65 years: dose adjustment may be needed

  • Avoid excessive alcohol use

Tadalafil ODT ka interaction profile conventional tablets jaise hi hai:

  • Nitrates: Life-threatening hypotension

  • Alpha-blockers (e.g., tamsulosin, doxazosin): risk of hypotension

  • CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, ritonavir): increase tadalafil blood levels

  • CYP3A4 inducers (e.g., rifampin, carbamazepine): decrease efficacy

  • Alcohol: increased risk of dizziness, hypotension

  • Antihypertensives: additive blood pressure-lowering effect

Common Side Effects:

  • Headache

  • Flushing

  • Back pain

  • Nasal congestion

  • Indigestion

  • Myalgia (muscle pain)

Less Common / Serious Side Effects:

  • Sudden vision loss (NAION)

  • Sudden hearing decrease/loss

  • Prolonged erection (>4 hours) – priapism

  • Hypotension

  • Allergic reactions (e.g., rash, hives, angioedema)

ODT form mein rarely mild oral irritation ho sakti hai (mouth mein tingling ya burning sensation during disintegration).

Pregnancy:

  • Tadalafil ODT is not indicated for women, including during pregnancy.
  • Not recommended unless prescribed for specific condition like PAH in women (rare).

Breastfeeding:

  • Unknown whether tadalafil is excreted in human milk.
  • Caution advised in lactating women.
  • Generally not recommended during breastfeeding.

Store this medication at 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C) and away from heat, moisture and light. Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Throw away any unused medicine after the beyond use date. Do not flush unused medications or pour down a sink or drain.
